Career and Technical Education
The Career and Technical Education Unit at HCHS is a high tech facility that is staffed by highly qualified instructors who typically have more than ten years of experience woking in their career field. The mission of the CTE Unit is to prepare students for entry level positions in high tech careers and to prepare students for transition into post-secondary education.
The CTE Team is lead by Mr. Victor Doty. Mr Doty has over 30 years of experience as an educator. Mr.
Doty has lead the CTE Unit for 5 years and has grown the unit to include many new program offerings. Recently, Mr. Doty has lead the CTE unit on a new endeavor. The CTE Unit and Henderson County High School as a whole has partnered with the Southern Regional Education Board to become a High Schools That Work (HSTW) Site. High Schools That Work is an effort-based school improvement initiative founded on the conviction that most students can master rigerous academic and career/technical studies if school leaders and teachers create an environment that motivates students to make the effort to succeed.
